Welcome!

If you like to take walks and want to learn some history about the place where you’re walking, you’ve come to the right place. The walks are free but registration is required. Our group is mostly retired folks and typically the walks are 1-2 miles, often with a 1 mile option.

This group is for people in average physical shape and not for athletes nor for those with serious medical conditions.

Mostly the walks/hikes are flat but sometimes there are hills. I will do my best to describe the terrain in the event announcement. We walk at a leisurely pace making frequent stops on the urban tours where there’s more history to discuss. I also attempt to identify an accessible restroom near where we meet.

We always take roll and provide name tags. Attendance is limited to 30 people.

Quote of the Day:

“Here, once more, I found an ancient beauty, a young sky, and measured my good fortune as I realized at last that in the worst years of our madness the memory of this sky had never left me.  It was this that in the end had saved me from despair . . . In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”  Albert Camus from Return to Tipasa
