Meet in front of the museum in the lower parking lot at the park. NO REGISTRATION required for these walks. They are free and open to the public and part of the park docent tours. There is a $10 entry fee per vehicle for the park.
2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen
The park gives these regularly scheduled weekend tours and I am leading the ones listed as a park docent. We will walk to the ruins of Wolf House, Jack London’s dream house, which tragically burned in 1913 shortly before the Londons were to move in. This is a 1.2 mile round trip walk with some inclines but it’s a slow walk with stops along the way. The tour takes about 1.5 hours and stops at Jack’s gravesite. There are nice restrooms with running water, soap, and flush toilets, in the far back corner of the lower/museum parking lot. Look for the port-a-potty – the restrooms are down the hill from it (and out of sight). Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and water are recommended. Masks recommended for inside the buildings or when coming close to others outside. There are ticks, rattle snakes and poison oak but it’s typically not a problem if you stay on the trail. Glen Ellen Village Market (right before you turn onto London Ranch Rd) has a great deli in the far back of the store with a hot bar, paninis and other sandwiches, salad bar, etc., with outside tables in the back for post-walk.
